Working Together To Prevent Child Fatalities: Collaboration Among Review Teams, Child Welfare Agencies, and Communities (PowerPoint Presentation – Due to technical problems the recording of the webinar is unavailable)
This webinar will provide an overview and summary of a year-long Children’s Bureau study to examine best strategies for collaboration among fatality review teams with the aim of increasing the efficacy of child fatality prevention efforts. The study included a literature review, extensive review of fatality review reports and recommendations, site visits, and a national convening of fatality review stakeholders. The webinar will include: an overview of national data on child fatalities; a discussion of the structure and functions of different types of fatality and near fatality reviews that affect children and families; a summary of the types of recommendations that are formulated by review teams; and discussion of the impact of such recommendations. The benefits of collaboration at local and state levels will also be explored. Questions specific to the study will be answered at the end of the presentation.
